Canal St. Martin
After returning from Copenhagen, Cecily and I decided to just wander around the Marais (where we found some awesome French Army jackets at a vintage store for 5 euro!) and then to Canal St. Martin, now famous for its scene in the opening of Amélie where she skips the stones. To our surprise it was a great, quiet area of Paris that had a funky vibe and lots of cafés and small boutiques. It is also home to Hôpital Saint-Louis which used to house plague victims in the 17th century. Today it is one of the largest hospitals in Paris.
Really funky store in Paris that sold some outrageous clothing and unique home goods.
